Dutchess Outreach receives many individual gifts. These enable us to carry out our program. Many also plan an event or program with friends to help those less fortunate than themselves.

Making a donation is a good way to honor or memorialize a friend or loved one.

The staff at Dutchess Outreach welcomes the opportunity to discuss your ideas and offers support to your efforts that will benefit those in our community in need.

How to Make Your Donation

Another way to give is to pledge to give regularly to Dutchess Outreach. These donors are called "sustainers" and give, usually monthly an amount to us. Sometimes there are budgetary cuts from United Way and from the City of Poughkeepsie, and these sustainers enable us to continue important programs and services at Dutchess Outreach.

How to Become a Sustainer

Dutchess Outreach is a member of "Leave a Legacy" of Dutchess County. The purpose of the organization is to encourage individuals to include local non-profits in their charitable giving.

Our representative members of Leave a Legacy of Dutchess County are also members of the Planned Giving Council of the Mid-Hudson Valley, the local chapter of the National Council on Planned Giving.

There are several ways to leave your legacy:

• Bequest in the Will

  You can name Dutchess Outreach as a beneficiary for some amount in your Last Will and Testament.

• Charitable Remainder Trust

  Upon termination of a trust that provided income to yourself or another loved one, the principal is distributed to charities named in the trust.
