Though many may not realize, poverty does exist in Dutchess County. Since 1974, Dutchess Outreach has helped thousands of men, women and children who have little or no income and need help obtaining basic needs.

Whether it’s distributing food to hungry families, providing clothes for children, or assisting with eviction or utility shut-off notices, our staff and volunteers provide clients a helping hand.We help our clients maintain their dignity, sometimes during devastating circumstances. Each client comes to us with a unique situation, and we treat each with the individuality he or she deserves. If you or a loved one is in need of our services, please contact us at 845-454-3792 or via our contact page.

The air is starting to cool, prompting warmer blankets, cups of hot apple cider, and that favorite jacket to keep cozy. Fall is here and with it comes Dutchess Outreach’s annual Susan DeKeukelaere Memorial Coat Drive, sponsored by Guardian Self Storage. We need your help to collect adult and children’s winter coats and jackets, especially plus sizes, that are clean and in good condition. Last year about 5,000 coats were collected and distributed.  With your help we plan to increase that number this year.

Coats can be dropped off at any Guardian Self Storage location throughout Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster counties. Other drop off sites are Raymour and Flanagan Clearance Center on 757 Vassar Road and all Red Cap Cleaners locations. Coats will be collected at these locations from Oct. 1 through Oct.31. Coats also can be dropped off at the Rhinebeck Bank branches, Scheer Cleaners in Red Hook and Rhinebeck, and Town and Country Cleaners from Oct. 6 through Oct. 24. For more information call Dutchess Outreach at 845-454-3792.
