This annual event honors specific key volunteers and corporate sponsors for their outstanding contributions to Dutchess Outreach. Guests enjoy an impressive meal, an opportunity to learn more about our organization, and even a fun silent auction with wonderful prizes donated by many of our community supporters.
Every spring, this fundraising reminder is mailed to our donors and other
contacts. Food and cash donations received from
March 1st to April 30th, are counted towards the Feinstein Challenge, in which The Feinstein Foundation, a philanthropic organization devoted to ending hunger in the United States, will divide $1 million among hunger-fighting agencies nationwide
who agree to "meet the challenge."
We’re grateful to be a recipient of food collected each year on the second Saturday of May by the National Association of Letter Carriers’ Union. Many local post offices participate, so if you receive a reminder notice in your mailbox, please be sure to leave a bag of non-perishable items on the designated day that will help to "Stamp Out Hunger" and fill our food pantry shelves.
We are always amazed by the ingenuity and generosity of our community. If you have an idea for a fundraiser, please contact us at 845.454.3792. We can help you organize an event and would be happy to arrange for either pick-up or delivery of the items/funds you collect.
Springtime is traditionally a tough one for food pantries in general. Everyone thinks to donate food during the holidays, but hunger is an issue year-round. Our coordinated food drive in the spring helps us to restock our food pantry shelves. Many youth and church organizations assist us by getting the word out and collecting food for the Beverly Closs Food Pantry at Dutchess Outreach.
During the month of October, all types of coats for men, women and children are collected at various locations throughout the County, including Rhinebeck Bank branches and Guardian Self Storage locations. Coats should be either new or clean and in good condition. Once collected and sorted, Dutchess Outreach volunteers provide distribution days in locations around Dutchess County. Distribution locations can change each year, so be sure to check our event calendar for the current year’s locations and dates.
Join us on Friday, October 21st, as we benefit Dutchess Outreach with our first annual Taste Against Hunger. Enjoy a tasting from an array of Hudson Valley
restaurants, craft beer, wine, and music, all while supporting the mission of Dutchess Outreach. This year we will be honoring Raymour and Flanigan Furniture and Hannaford LaGrange for their support and commitment to Dutchess
Outreach and our community.
Dutchess Outreach acts as a catalyst for community revitalization and exists in Dutchess County as an advocate and provider of hunger and relief services
in order to ensure that everyone, regardless of income, has access to fresh, healthy food, and the support they need.

Dutchess Outreach could not exist without our hundreds of volunteers. To show our appreciation, we hold an annual event in June where we recognize some of those volunteers who have made such an impact in the previous year.
